Arrival & Departure
Arrival of participants is on 21st september 2013. There is a transfer from Dalaman airport near the city of Fethyie (or alternatively from Fethiye bus station) to the event base camp. After arrival meeting, briefing, dinner. After the race, there is an awards ceremony and dinner at the camp. On 28th september transfer to Antalya Airport.

Lycian Way
Der Lycian Way Ultra Marathon is held on a 220 to 250 k course along the ancient paths at altutude ranging from 0 to 800m. More details about the daily stages are provided shortly before the start of the race.

The terrain is challenging and highly variable. You walk through the woods [and] river beds, over rocky paths, unpaved roads, deep sandy beaches, ancient ruins and sometimes have to cross very steep slopes. If you suffer from vertigo, some passages may cause roblems.

Applies to Ultramarathon runner:
The stages are between 20km and 90 km long. The race takes place in self-sufficiency, that is the complete personal equipment must be transported during the race itself, including mandatory equipment and food for the entire race weekend (2000 cal minimum per day!).

Applies to 6D Discovery Runner:
Stages of Discovery runners are about 10-20km long. This is followed by the further transport in SUVs or buses. The personal equipment is transported from camp to camp. The camp has a rich and fresh breakfast and dinner.

Climate
During the day it is very hot, in some places temperature may exceed 40 ° C, at night temperatures are 12 to 16 ° C mild.

Orientation
The Lycian Way is very well marked with red and white stripes. Also yellow signs show the way sometimes. Nevertheless, there are always passages whre you need to keep a watchful eye need to not go off the track.

Each participant receives a GPS transmitter and is rescued, in case of getting lost. In addition, each participant receives a road-book guide to the approximate distances, soil conditions, and checkpoint coordinates. Carrying a GPS receiver is required.

Checkpoints
Every 10-15 km there is a checkpoint with water, basic health care and timing. The carrying of drinking water between checkpoints is strongly recommended. Who does not arrive within the specified cutoff times will be disqualified. The tax base is "fast walking". Who leaves out a checkpoint or skips will be disqualified.

Camps
At the end of each stage is a beautiful camp with drinking water, hot water, tents, campfires and medical care available.

Changes
The Race Director may change, shorten or extend the course or cancel the whole race. And of course, he may disqualify runners that violate other event rules.
