Lykischer Weg Ultra Trail Marathon

The participants have to carry both their necessary and obligatory equipments in their backpacks. 

The participants will be accommodated in tents in the base camp area.

Drinking water and medical care (in case of emergencies ) are available in the checkpoints and at each camp.

Hot water will be provided for easy cooking in the camp.

The participants are ought to be older than 18 years. The younger ones are only authorized to participate under the supervision of their parents, which actually means that they will need one of their parents running together with them during the Marathon. 

Participants have to submit an Electrocardiogram test (ECG test) form and a special report of health, informing that there is no inconvenience for them to join the Marathon. Both of these documents of health should be received in application.

A feasible preperation process is strongly reccomended since the race itself requires both physical and mental sturdiness. Every single runner is due to sign up a contract before the Marathon starts, emphasizing that he (or she) participates in the race with his (or her) own will and own risk.

Single and team participation are both accepted. Every single participant will be lined up according to the general results and also to their gender and age. 

The prize ceremony takes place after the race. There is no cash prize.

Every single team is to be composed of three participants and the race is going to take place in the same racecourse. It is expected that the teams enter to the checkpoints together as a team. In case of discontinuity by at least one member of the team during the Marathon, the team is to be disqualified. Every single member of each team are also considered as a single racer and even their team disqualifies they are going to be able to continue as an individual racer.

Every single racer (also the ones running as a team member) is allowed to get sponsors. The logos of sponsors may hang both on the chest and on the backpack of the racer in a way that does not obstruct the racer number. The other logos to be used except these areas are going to be defined by the committee of organization.

Every single member of each team is ought to pay his or (her fee) individually. In case of cancellation of accession the participant is paid back with a 10% deduction of the accession fee until 31 July. There is no payback after this date.

In case of quitting the race, the participants still possess the right to transfer services to the base camp area and to Antalya Airport after the event. The participant may continue the race in volunteer bases.

The participants will be transferred from Dalaman Airport and Fethiye Bus Station. They will be transferred back to Antalya Airport and Antalya Bus Station. 

The participants may deliver their valuable properties to a related person defined by the organization before the race and retrieve their properties after the race. The participant is responsible of the stuff in his/her own backpack.

The record of each participant is calculated as the sum of their recorded times and penalty times. The arrival timings to every single checkpoint are also going to be recorded and the ID cards of every single participant are going to be marked in the checkpoints.

The participants have the right to quit the race anytime and anywhere. It is necessary to sign a document informing the attendants about the situation. In such situation, the ID card of the participant is confiscated and returning to the race is not allowed. On the other hand, it is permited to participate to any section of the remaining laps. Passing the remaining equipment to the continuing racers results with disqualification.

A medical care crew is available during the race. The principal medical services are available in the base camp area. The basic medical services will be available in each checkpoint. The members of the medical care crew have the right to take any of the participants out of the race. However, the organization prefers all runners to be able to finish the race.

The responsibility for  the race course and the management during the race belongs to the race-director. The routes are provided for the runners as a road-map before the race starts. The race course may change according to weather conditions or other factors and the decision right belongs to the race-director. The locations of the checkpoints and the localizations of the main camping areas also may be altered with the decision of the race-director. A kind of brief information about the actual racecourse will be given in every single morning by the race-director in English.

Every single runner gets a certificate and a medal after the Marathon.

Every single runner is considered as totally accepted the rules of the race.

Registration will be closed 2 weeks before the marathon.

 

Rules

Lycian Way Marathon has a troublesome and long race course and the participants ought to finish the race under the considered time interval and conditions. In case of all the other options, the race is to be considered as unfinished

Except the water, all the equipment being used during the race ought to be carried in the backpacks by the participants. Water will be periodically and sufficiently provided by the organization.

Participants who don't run through the checkpoints and the main camping area and also don't let the attendants mark their ID cards, will be disqualified. 

Every single checkpoint is logistically going to be closed after a pre-informed time. The participants, which couldn’t manage to reach the checkpoints during this time, will be considered as thrown out of the race. The director of the race is allowed to shorten, to make longer or to cancel the racecourse.

Another important individuality of the race is defined as self-sufficiency. The food to be eaten during the race is to be carried in the backpacks of participants. The participants getting extra-food from others and the participant giving extra-food to another one are to be taken out of the game. The participant is going to be taken out of the race in case of getting out of the food. Organization has the right to make periodically backpack controls.

During the race, the participants aren’t allowed to use any kind of transportation tools. In case of getting into any motor vehicle, riding bicycle or an animal, the participant will be punished within being taken out of the race.

After  the end of laps, the participants ought to spend the night in the main camping area. Otherwise they will be taken out of the race. Without the permission of the organization, it will be punished with two hours of time penalty to spend the night in another tent in the main camping area. If the participant repeats it, he (or she) will be taken out of the race.

In the checkpoints and main camping area, the participants are ought to throw their garbage away to the specified area. Otherwise they will be punished with two hours of time penalty firstly, and they will be taken out of the race in case of recurrence.

Every single participant is obligated to get sufficient portion of water and consume it. In case of a serum therapy for the dehydration; the participant will be punished with two hours of time penalty in the first one. Second one will be punished with four hours of time penalty and finally the participant will be taken out of the race after the third serum therapy.

Lycian Way Marathon will be run in an historical environment, counted as an example of the cultural heritage of earth. To disturb the natural and historical objects on the route will be punished with the disqualification and it is also a crime according to the laws of Turkish Republic. In an affair like this, the responsibility belongs to the person itself.

The misuse of the signal rockets will be punished with two hours of time penalty.

Behaviors, having impacts disturbing the other participants, may cause the participants to find themselves out
